If the fire alarm is not working, does it make our buildings insurance invalid if there was a fire?

The fire alarm in our building is a system that will alert every flat in the event of a fire. It has been out of order for months now. As my husband and I are not managers of the flat, apparently we’re not legally able to do anything without consent of the managers – who we have contacted numerous times to fix this.
Besides the fact that it’s unsafe to not have a fire alarm in a block of flats, would our buildings insurance become invalid if there was a fire and the company found out that the alarm hadn’t been working for some time?
Thanks

It probably would unless someone could convince the insurance company it was working yesterday.#
