if the fire department was dispatched by my security company and there was no fire, will I have to pay?

My security system is linked to our fire alarm. My oven produced smoke while making dinner and the alarm went off. Our security system company called and my husband gave the wrong password, but told them multiple times that there was no fire. They still dispatched firetrucks to our house. Will we be charged for them coming since there was no fire?
not the first time, they will investigate the cause/s and report their findings. They will ask to see all strobes, pumps, and tie-ins to equipment etc. they will ask if you have an evacuation plan and leave you literature and advice.
It depends on your county/city laws and ordinance.
if you give the wrong password the alarm company WILL send out the authorities. the reason you have a password is if someone were burning down your home or breaking into your home, the alarm company is protecting you. It is your responsibility to give the correct password.
now all cities and state I have lived in give one or two warnings a year before they issue a fine for false alarms, so if this is the first one, you should be fine.
I’m pretty sure your contract will obligate you.
Talk to a manager; maybe they will split it with oyu
