Should I buy the alarm system myself, then pay a monitoring company. Or should I go with a company like ADT?

Should we tip the guy who’s installing our home alarm system? He’s from the security company.?

Not a contractor, but from the company we’re already shelling out the bucks to for a home system. Are we supposed to tip him, and if so, how much? He’s here now but almost done… help!
