Where can an American, living overseas, find car insurance?

I am an American living in Germany for a while and would like to have “American” car insurance. I did have insurance with Germans, but….lets just say they are not the ones I want to continue business with. Any suggestions about insurance companies that can do their magic overseas and at a considerable low price…. PLEASE HELP…

American insurers often can’t even stretch beyond their own state borders, what makes you think you’ll find one that will stretch all the way to Germany.
    And at a *low price”.
    I hope it’s a joke.
Anyway, American insurance for American plates.
Same idea in Germany/Spain/ The World.

You can’t buy American insurance while living in Germany. Have you checked with the local German office of AAA? They usually sell insurance.

Why would you want American insurance? American insurance only covers you in the US (and sometimes Canada). It’s going to be useless overseas.
